The round red fruit caressed Joseph's hand as he held it for a moment before setting it in his basket. This tomato wasn't really that different from all the rest of the scarlet globes hanging from his pride and joy, yet the farmer had to marvel at how perfect the one he held seemed to him. From time to time he would find a tomato that he was certain was the best he had ever seen, only to be delighted days later with one he found even better. The only way Joseph could imagine this one being any better at all were if it were even bigger than it already was, and he wasn't even sure he wanted it to be.

A Friend in Need + Photos

Hello, everyone.  I'm writing this journal for a very different reason than I would normally write one, a reason much more important than just some news about what stories or poems I'm thinking about writing. A new friend of mine, MagicalJoey (https://www.deviantart.com/magicaljoey), is in severe need.  Joanne has struggled badly with depression for almost her entire life, as well as multiple physical problems such as fibromyalgia.  The last few months in particular have been extraordinarily painful for her, as she had lost her child and escaped a very bad relationship.  The darkness and pain took on a new dimension; they became so deep and so crushing that she eventually atte
